Kullu was once known as Kul-anti-peetha  literally meaning "the end of the habitable world". Kullu is the capital town ofKulluDistrict, inHimachal Pradesh,India. It is situated on the banks of theBeasRiverin theKulluValleyabout ten kilometers north of the airport at Bhuntar. The region is a broad open valley formed by theBeasriver between Manali and Largi.

Shoja: It is situated at a height of 2692 m. This is a convenience point for a complete picture of the Kullu area with snow peaks and valleys, meadows and forests, rivers and streams.

RaghunathTemple: It is said that during the 17th century, Raja Jagat Singh of Kullu committed a great wrong. To atone for his sin, he sent a senior courtier to Ayodhya for a statue of Lord Raghunath or Lord Rama. The temple was built by Raja Jagat Singh to house the image and even today, is greatly revered.

Fishing and Adventure: The Kullu valley has many places for trout fishing. These include Katrain, Raison, Kasol and Naggar, then along the river Tirthan near Larji, in theSainjValleyand in the Hurla khud.

Kullu Dussehra: When the Dussehra celebrations come to an end in the rest of the country, they begin in Kullu. This festival has been accorded the status of International festival to the Kullu Dussehra, which attracts tourists in large numbers. About 200 local deities come to pay reverence to Lord Raghunath. It is a time when the valley is at its colorful best.

BasheshwarMahadevTemple, It is one of the most charming temples in the Kullu valley, this is famous for its intricate stone carvings.
