How to Fix a Wrinkled Tie
- 1). Remove your tie from you neck or your suitcase and hang it over a coat hanger. Let the tie freely hang for approximately 30 minutes, so that the weight of the tie will pull out minor wrinkles.
- 2). Roll your tie up from one end to the other, to press out additional wrinkles. Roll the tie with the front facing outward so that the extra tension on the tie's front can pull out the wrinkles.
- 3). Place your tie on a flat surface like an ironing board and check for any more distinct wrinkles that may remain.
- 4). Place a clean cotton cloth over your neck tie. A white cloth is preferred to ensure that no dye is transferred to the tie.
- 5). Carefully iron your tie, ensuring that the iron's heat plate only stays in contact with the cloth and does not come into direct contact with the tie.
- 6). Hang your tie over a coat hanger again and allow it to cool down before wearing or storing.
