How to Create a Vampire Picture
- 1). Open the image editing program. Click the Brush Tool in the tool bar. Click on the down-pointing arrow and select Reset Brushes from the menu. Set the Master Diameter slider to 65 pixels and the Hardness slider to zero percent. In the toolbar, set Opacity to 100 percent, then select the Levels Adjustment Layer Mask from the tool bar to the left hand side of the picture. This will open the Layer Mask Thumbnail.
- 2). Paint over the eyes in the main image. The painted over eyes will appear in Level 1 of the Layer Mask Thumbnail. This protects the eyes from changes you will make to the rest of the face.
- 3). Click on the Adjustment tab and click the arrow in the bottom left corner. Select Creat a New Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer. This adds a new layer to the thumbnail. Move the saturation slider to --50. Click on the Create New Color Balance Adjustment Layer button in the adjustments menu and set the Yellow/Blue slider to +35 towards the blue side of the slider. This gives the picture a vampiric pallor.
- 4). Click the Create New Layer button in the bottom right corner. Click "OK" and then zoom in on the eyes in the main picture. Select Foreground Color Picker on the Tool Bar and then drag the color cursor to a rich shade of orange before clicking "OK." Open the Brush menu again and set Hardness to zero percent and Master Diameter to 35 pixels. Carefully avoiding the pupil, paint over the irises of both eyes.
- 5). Open the Layer menu and change Opacity to 70 percent and select Vivid Light on the Blend Mode menu. Create a new layer again and create a brush with zero percent hardness and a master diameter of eight pixels. Draw a thin line around the outer edge of the iris and then set the opacity to 80 percent. Change the blend mode for this layer to Multiply.
- 6). Click on the Filter tab in the top tool bar and click the Blur arrow. Select Gaussian Blur and select 2.0 pixels before clicking "OK." Create another layer and another brush, this time with a master diameter of 100 pixels and a hardness of zero percent. Select a color darker than the skin tone of the main picture. Paint over the eyelids and beneath the eyes, being careful not to cover the eye, nose or go above the eyebrow. Change the blend mode of this layer to Multiply and set the opacity to 60 percent. Again, choose a Gaussian Blur from the Blur menu, but this time set the radius to 24.0 pixels and press "OK."
- 7). Create a new layer and change the foreground color through the Tool Bar to a dark purplish-pink. Create a brush with a diameter of 45 pixels and hardness of zero percent, change the opacity to 100 percent and paint over the lips. Select Multiply on the Blend Mode menu and lower the opacity to 50 percent.
- 8). Create another new layer and use the same brush from Step 7 to paint the top part of the bottom lip and the bottom part of the top lip. Again, change the blend mode to Multiply and alter the opacity to 70 percent. Choose a Gaussian Blur with a radius of 15 pixels. Double-click the Hand tool and you will have created a vampire-like version of your friend.
