How to Stop Microsoft Virus Warning Messages
- 1). Click on the "Start" button on the bottom left of your screen. Select the "Run" icon and type in "MRT" into the "Run" box. Click "OK" to launch the "Malicious Software Removal Tool." This new breed of viruses pretend to be an anti-virus program and prevents your computer from running smoothly as it urges you to purchase the virus' anti-virus program. Purchasing this program will not clean your computer. The virus goes by many different names, all of which bring up a fake Microsoft virus warning message.
- 2). Select the "Next" button in the "Malicious Software Removal Tool" window and click on "Full Scan." Click on the "Next" button and complete the prompts launched by the "MRT" window.
- 3). Click "Finish" after "MRT" has cleaned your computer. Reboot your computer for the changes to be finalized.
