The Coolest Bikers Ever in Film

105 2
There's sometimes nothing better than sitting down to an old or classic film to enjoy movies as they were back in the day. But better than any classic movie is one involving cool bikers who capture the audience either with their brash and wild attitude or their chilled out personality. We've thought long and hard about the best ever bikers in films and want to tell you a little bit more about them; although you may want to find alternative role models if you want to take up motorcycling yourself!

Easy Rider (featuring Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper)
Leather-clad Wyatt (Fonda) and hip Billy (Hopper) are depicted as two hippy bikers who are on their way to Mardi gras via a trip across America [1]. These groovy men have made some money and decide to buy some choppers with the cash; be warned though, this 1969 film does have adult themes and is not suitable for children. However, this film is a classic for those who enjoy choppers, cool guys, long road trips, and the old USA.

The World's Fastest Indian (featuring Anthony Hopkins)
Based on a real life story, Burt Munro (Hopkins) works to increase the speed of his motorcycle, a 1920 Indian [2]. Hopkins is memorable in this film due to his friendly manner and charm when he meets new people on his way from New Zealand to the USA. His goal is to take his motorbike to the Bonneville Salt Flats to test its speed but you will have to watch it to see how it all plays out. It's best not to follow his lead if you hope to get covered for bike insurance!

Terminator 2: Judgement Day (featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger)
If you are looking for a proper action film with lots of masculine grit, catch Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator in T2. The scene you don't want to miss is when he rides his motorbike over the side of a ravine; it's high octane and fast paced. This one gets added to the list as the no-fear attitude is distinctly cool.

Hells Angels on Wheels (featuring Jack Nicholson)
Another film based in the USA, Hells Angels on Wheels follows the story of Poet (Nicholson) who ends up riding with the Hells Angels [3]. The film naturally has many motorcycle moments, as well as the typical bad behaviour that can be expected with the motorcycle club. Poet is described as a character that has plenty of pluck - maybe less intellect - but all the same is captivating in his role.
