    • 1). Open a new Photoshop document and name the file. Set the document width to 1000 pixels and the document height to 750 pixels. Set the resolution to 96 pixels per inch (ppi).

    • 2). Opt for "RGB" as the color mode and leave the default "8 bit" as the color mode for this example.

    • 3). Choose "background color" for the background contents option for a solid background. Transparent or white backgrounds also work for PowerPoint slides, depending on the style desired. Select the "OK" button.

    • 4). Save your document in JPG format using the "save as" option in the "File" drop-down menu. You now have a working document formatted in the correct size for a PowerPoint slide.

    • 5). Choose "Edit" in the menu bar. Opt for "fill," then "contents." Select the "color" option from the drop-down menu. Pick the color of your choice for the slide background. You may add layers, text, images, effects, and filters at this point.

    • 6). Save your final changes in the document.

    • 7). Open a new PowerPoint presentation. Choose "format" from the drop-down menu, then "slide background." Opt for "fill," then choose "picture." Choose the file that you created in Photoshop. Choose "apply" to insert into one slide, or select "apply all" to insert the background into all the slides in your presentation.
