Spring Tablescape Decorating Ideas
- Celebrate spring break by creating a beach-inspired tablescape. If you can't take a tropical vacation, bring the tropics indoors.
Fill a large, glass, rectangular tray with sand, and place it in the middle of your table. Place white and varying shades of blue candles on the sand; if possible, choose candles that feature an "ocean" scent. Place sand dollars, shells and starfish in the sand around the candles. - Use vintage decor to enhance the soft, romantic hues and flowers of spring. Fill antique egg cups and crystal bud vases with small, colorful flower arrangements, such as violets and bunches of lilacs.
Green Depression glass drinking cups will look fresh when filled with water and floating white flower petals or bunches of delicate white flowers, such as lilies of the valley.
Place the vintage vessels in the center of the table, or set one by each place mat. - Vibrant tulips are synonymous with spring, so use them to add a pop of color to your table. Place bunches of orange, red, yellow and purple tulips in opulent crystal vases for an elegant look.
As a charming touch, place individual stems of tulips in green-tinted glass soda bottles. Group them in the center of the table, or place them at each place setting. - Soft shades rule during the springtime. Whether you are decorating your table with flowers or candles or both, use delicate, muted shades for a fresh look.
Fill clear crystal bowls with colored water in shades of lilac, light pink and blue, mint green and butter yellow. Use food coloring to create the perfect hue. Place floating candles or flower petals in the water, and set the bowls in the center of the table.
Cover the table with a pastel-colored tablecloth, and set various candles in the center. Choose candles featuring a rainbow of soft shades. - If you love to garden, create a plant-inspired spring tablescape. Use a fresh, grass-green tablecloth and white and clear dishes as an elegant touch. Fill crystal glasses with matching grass-green cloth napkins by each place setting.
In the center of the table, place terra-cotta plant pots of live plants, such as herbs and colorful flowers. Choose flowers in shades of vibrant purple, pink orange, yellow and orange.
During a dinner party, use seed packets as place cards. Choose packets featuring colorful lettering, and write each guest's name on the front; tie the packets with sheer green ribbons as a special touch. Guests can take the seed packets home as party favors.
