    • 1). Plug the USB drive into the laptop.

    • 2). Right-click "Start," click "Explore," click "Computer," "C," "Windows," and right-click the "i386" folder. Select "Copy," click the USB drive, then right-click and select "Paste."

    • 3). Insert the USB drive into the Desktop computer.

    • 4). Right-click "Start" and select "Explore." Click "Computer," the USB drive, "i386," and double-click "winnt.exe" to launch the system setup for your operating system.

    • 5). Press "Enter" at the welcome screen, "F8" at the license agreement, highlight the drive containing your operating system, and press "R" to effectuate a repair using your laptop files.
