SOUTHWEST (202.5 to 247.5) or NORTHEAST ( 22.5 to 67.5), you want a door colour that is nourishing and supporting the EARTH feng shui element.

Good for your door colours: all earthy colours plus red, orange, strong yellow, purple, pink.
Bad for your door colours: blue, black, white, gray, brown and green.

The Earth element can be expressed with the following good feng shui decor for your door:
  • Earthenware pots (in clay/earthy colours or red, purple, magenta colours)
  • A doormat in either square or with triangular and star shapes.

AVOID a strong presence of:
  • Metal element decor (metal pots, shiny metal hardware, round shapes, etc)
  • Wood element decor (big plants, strong presence of colours brown and green in any door decor)
  • Water decor items by your door (blue or black pots, water feature, wavy shapes, etc)


WEST (247.5 to 292.5) and NORTHWEST (292.5 to 337.5), you want a door colour that is nourishing and supporting the METAL feng shui element.

Good for your door colours: white, gray and all earthy colours.
Bad for your door colours: red, orange, purple, strong yellow, pink, blue and black.

The Metal element can be expressed with the following good feng shui decor for your door:
  • Metal containers/pots (in metal finish or colours white or gray)
  • Shiny metal finish door hardware
  • A doormat that is either square, round or has these shapes in its design.



    AVOID a strong presence of:
    • Fire decor items by your door (red or purple pots, red doormat, triangular shapes, etc)
    • Water decor items by your door (blue or black pots, water feature, wavy shapes, etc)


    NORTH (337.5 to 22.5), you want a door colour that is nourishing and supporting the WATER feng shui element.

    Good for your door colours: blue, black, white and gray.
    Bad for your door colours: red, purple, pink, green, brown and all earthy tones.

    The Water element can be expressed with the following good feng shui decor for your door:
    • Metal containers/pots (in metal finish or colours white, gray, blue or black)
    • Shiny metal finish door hardware
    • A water feature by the door (either inside or outside)
    • A doormat that is blue or black and has either round or has wavy design.

    AVOID a strong presence of:
    • Wood element decor (big plants, strong presence of colours brown and green in any door decor)

    • Earth element decor (clay pots, many rocks by the door, square shapes, etc)
