Auckland, The Proud Host Of Rugby World Cup
This is the very first time that New Zealand is hosting any international rugby tournament. Earlier the country hosted Common wealth Nations Games in 2002, and Cricket World Cup in 2003. It is estimated that 60,000 international visitors will take flights to Auckland to watch these matches. The event has forced the government and local; authorities of the city to do some major improvement in the infrastructure of the city that resulted in the construction of new roads, new places of visitors interest, and upgraded public transport. This mega event will not only be capturing visitors to the region but media will be also for live coverage which will consist of both the local media of the country and international media for the live coverage of matches. About 2000 international media are expected to be in New Zealand through flights to auckland as their main entry point.
In addition to boasting tourism in New Zealand the event will also be offering many financial and economic benefits to the country. It has been estimated that more than 60,000 international visitors taken cheap flights to Auckland will be becoming the source of $315 million of direct economic benefits to the country as well as Auckland. The event will be spread over six weeks, starting from 10th September and ending on 22nd October. The semi finals and final will be held at Eden Park in Auckland. Twenty countries will be participating in the tournament playing s48 games. It will be co sponsored by the three leading organizations of the New Zealand; Pacific Business Trust (PBT), Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs (MPIA) and the Auckland City Council (ACC). Rugby fans, players, coaches, and government authorities and delegates will take flights to Auckland from UK and worldwide in the coming September to join Rugby World Cup.
