Will You Be One of the 3 Out of 10 People That Will Enjoy an Increased Life Span?

In the last century, higher living standards and better public health have played key roles in increasing our life expectancy by another 30 odd years.
For many these extra years are not a time of vitality, abundant energy and strength.
Although we are living longer in this modern industrialized world, people are also becoming chronically ill at an earlier age.
Somehow our health span doesn't equal our life span.
If it is possible that you are going to live well into your 80's, 90's or even 100 years doesn't it make good sense that some thought is put into the quality of these years rather than just the number? Our modern day life sees many of us living what is considered a sedentary lifestyle, 'sitting' and hardly moving for long periods during the day, every day.
The direct effect of this inactivity is that our bodies pay the price, the weakening of muscles and bones and a weakening of the immune system exposing one to nasty diseases that could well shorten a life.
And this is just the beginning, inactivity affects the brain, ability to use glucose, the heart and lungs lose their ability to function efficiently, joints will become stiff, painful and easily injured and daily tasks will start to become more difficult.
More consequences are weight gain; lack of energy, posture taking on an aged look and a loss of vitality and self esteem.
It takes time for all of this to happen, years, even decades for the lack of physical activity to take its toll on our body.
This gradual and barely noticeable downward spiral of declining health and physical functioning is one of the greatest public health threats of our modern age.
The world now faces an epidemic of overweight and obesity, soaring levels of heart disease, cancer, diabetes other life threatening diseases which have been labeled "lifestyle diseases" as they are considered to be premature and preventable.
We now know that it isn't age that brings about the above conditions - it is a life without enough physical activity to keep one strong, healthy and disease free.
With this understanding of the human body and what happens to it when we don't stay strong, how is it the many people view proper exercise as "optional?" When we partake in regular proper exercise, a program that includes at least 60% strength training exercise the process of growth spreads throughout every cell in our bodies, making us not just a little bit younger and healthier - a whole lot younger and healthier.
Even if "getting old" is years or even decades away, it may pay to ask the question - "Am I going to leave my future health up to "good luck" or "chance" or am I doing what I can today to ensure that my health span equals my life span?" Just as we prepare for our career and financial future, we need to plan and prepare for our physical wellness and take steps to ensure our future is as disease proof as possible.
We need to fully appreciate and believe that what we do right now, today has an incredible impact on our health and wellness later in life.
Make if your goal to be one of those three out of ten people that get to live out an increased life span in a powerful, healthy body resistant to illness and disease because you are willing to put in some effort and work today and start preparing for it.
