Of course it is possible to control your anxiety, the only thing you need to do is to be alert of the happening and what you can do to control it.
You have to understand that this is not an effortless task and what works for one person may not apply to the next person.

Accept it and let it go As it may sound simple but this is the toughest task to do.
Whenever anxiety attacks strike or its related symptoms, all you have to do is accept it.
Instead of focusing on what caused the anxiety, we usually focus on what we are feeling thus resulting to creation of more fear and stress.
So what may have just started as a little problem ends up being a disaster.
You need to think about why you are feeling anxious, not the symptoms.
The anxiety symptoms will not harm you; just accept all of them no matter how tough it may be.
Discover something that will keep you occupied and take your mind off your illness and focus on it.
When you refrain from adding a secondary fear to your symptom, your body naturally relaxes within a short time.
Do it repeatedly In the process of controlling your anxiety you will encounter a number of failures but do not get discouraged since it happens to all of us.
But if you try each and every time you will be training your brain that the anxiety you feel is not threatening.
No more full blown anxiety attacks.
Medicine and psychotherapy will help you cope with your anxiety and I believe the same way you slipped into your anxious state gradually, is the same way you will get out of it.
