• A relatively new competitor to the market, Smart cars have become synonymous with great fuel economy in a time where gas prices have become astronomical. The ForTwo Passion offers an EPA estimated 34 miles per gallon in the city and 47 miles per gallon on the highway. LIke the Prius, the ForTwo Passion averages approximately 48 miles per gallon over the course of a 150-mile trip.
  
  

Honda Insight EX

• The Honda Insight marks Honda's first foray into the hybrid car industry and has come with stellar reviews. The Insight EX comes with an EPA estimated 29 miles per gallon in the city and 45 miles per gallon on the highway, averaging a whopping 38 total miles per gallon. Over the course of a 150-mile trip, the Honda Insight gives drivers approximately 46 miles per gallon.
  
  

Honda Civic Hybrid

• Following suit with the popularity of the Insight, Honda decided to make it most popular vehicle--the Civic--available in a hybrid model. The Civic hybrid offers consumers approximately 26 miles per gallon in the city and 47 miles per gallon on the highway, marking the biggest difference between city and highway gas mileage on our list so far. Toyota Camry Hybrid

• In an attempt to compliment its highly popular Prius model, Toyota decided in 2007 to begin offering one of its most popular vehicles (the Camry) in a hybrid model. The Camry Hybrid rounds out the top five most fuel efficient vehicles available and averages an EPA estimated 28 miles per gallon in the city and 41 miles per gallon on the highway. Over the course of a-150 mile trip, the Camry has been known to average approximately 37 miles per gallon.
