Spacetime Of Our Friendship
When I was as old as my daughter
And you were just a little older than your daughter
Our minds not grown enough to remember
All those sweet nothings about us that our mothers share
Do you remember,
When I was so grown up to stand in front of your gate naked
And you were quite grown up to take me in and talk and play and feed
We always had your brother-the-leader and used to participate with strategies unexpected
Who now has been the brother of Indians for once and ever uncovered?
Do you remember,
We used to run in and out of the house jumping over and bumping into people on the way
Exactly when our brother lapsed in a pool of questions into which your mother was pulled to stay
And of course I remember her breathlessness to answer unfolding him into journey miles away
But we were never disturbed even from our fight under a metal framed, plastic coiled cot totally astray
Well you remember,
We met back in life after long, long years and with our prospering complicated career design
You were found to be a young, bright girl from a country capital and me with a countryside brain
You were maintaining mental lexicons of several languages while me, sustaining to try for a place in spoken English train
You carried a myriad of career dreams while I had been traveling along a directionless path all the way uncertain
Now you remember,
The way your duo empowered me by letting me join you, always led me by performing and practicing
The way you shared with me every story of your every day and every pun of every moment like a real sibling
The way you apprized me of my attainments when I reached the western world for continuous learning
And the way you joined your better half in being a friend indeed for one like me in a life of tough-going
I sure remember,
How you recited to me your unforgettable experiences of flying like a bird in the vast day skies
And almost at the same time, here I was, swimming in the abyss of philosophical pool of endless radius
We exchanged our moods about our well scripted fates and our vibes around the story of our personal lifelong ties
I remember your every blushing stare and each timid glare while you're standing on your wedding dais
It is enthralling to remember,
Your quivering eye struggling to measure the size of the tender nose and pink chin of your life's first baby
My wavering mind slithered into mixed emotions about missing in distance but knowing of my new baby
Everybody tells us what to do and what not, but see the way it frustrates as nobody speaks of knowhow, strange and eerie!
And at last we realize there is no better way to help our fruits ripe and right than to tell them "to err is to learn easy"
And now, it is such a feeling to remember,
Another life segment that shows you are more grown up and you are no more what you were yesterday
Knowing yourself going through the course of pleasant memories, well-expressed wishes toward a vibrant life-bay
I wish you keep walking with your matey and the baby and find every dawn of every day full of light and gay
I wish you the shower of blesses from the god of wealth and wisdom to ensure your healthy stay
And I wish our friendship everlasting time and space on your happy birthday!
Happy Birthday!
