Named as the jewel of Cyclades Islands and the Aegean Sea, Paros is one of the best holiday destinations in Europe.
With its natural beauties, sandy beaches, and tourist infrastructures, Paros offers all these summer vacation characteristics that a visitor needs.
With many "blue flagged" sandy beaches, picturesque villages, traditional built settlements, fabulous fish restaurants, bars, tavernas, and a selection of Paros hotels, apartments and villas spread along the island, Paros rightfully is considered as a unique destination for summer holidays in Greece.
The two popular areas of Paros are Parikia (which is the capital and the main port of Paros) and Naoussa (lying on the northern part of the island).
While Parikia is the commercial center of the island and offers a number of hotels and apartments to rent, Naoussa is the jewel of Paros offering a different feeling to the visitor with its traditional color, picturesque fishing port, the Venecian Castle, small cozy restaurants and bars and of course some of the best luxury Paros hotels, most of them right on the beach.
Naoussa has a great nightlife.
After midnight, the village lives in an atmosphere full of fun, music and dancing that lasts until the early morning.
There are many Paros hotels to choose from.
You may select a small hotel that fits your budget or a high class resort hotel that offers more facilities and amenities.
For beach lovers there are quite a lot Paros hotels right on the beach.
You may also choose a hotel with a swimming pool and a sun terrace with lounge area where you can enjoy the sunset and great sea views of the Aegean.
The island offers many beautiful sandy beaches like Chrissi Akti, Santa Maria, Piperi, Aliki, Agia Irini, Punda Beach and many more that worth a visit.
Due to the "meltemi" winds from northern directions during the summer the climate of Paros is never too hot and these north winds offer a great opportunity to windsurfers and kite surfers to enjoy the wind and the waves.
One church being among the most visited churches in Paros, is "Panagia Ekatontapiliani" (meaning "Our Lady of the Hundred Gates"), located in Parikia.
This church is considered one one of the oldest and well-maintained churches in Greece.
It is a perfect choice for a late afternoon visit, when it's cooler and not so crowdy.
While in Naoussa, don't forget to visit the beautiful monastery of Logovarda, which is located near the village of Naoussa (note: it is forbidden for women).
