Way Up There
Just seeing all those planes flying almost back and forth in the sky, I wonder about how things get around inside that big airplane.
It was only few months ago did I got the chance to finally experience how it was to be seated and actually flew in the air inside the plane.
My family and I went to Hong Kong that time and as we were waiting our cue before boarding the plane, I thought of how we will handle the kids once we get inside.
My second daughter gets motion sick whenever we travel either by land or sea.
So before we went inside, I made sure that I brought along the plastic cup we used when we ate in a fast food inside the airport.
We decided to give her a motion-sick pill before the plane went up.
Once we got inside and was briefly oriented about the details of our flight, the stewardess walked along the corridor while pushing a table cart.
They offered food and drinks, but unfortunately they were for sale.
My husband bought two canned sodas and asked the attendant for plastic cups and he poured the sodas for my kids.
It was a very good choice for airplane personnel to use plastic glasses than those ceramic or porcelain glasses.
It was child friendly and we did not get worried about our kids dropping off and accidentally broke one of those plastic cups.
Since these 9 ounce cups are commonly lightweight and can be easily disposed, most airlines never leave the runway without it.
Just think of how much weight it can add up to the plane if they will use heavy and fragile glasses.
