Don"t Make Google Mad! - Use High Quality Unique Content Instead
Keyword research is important but if you are relying on the search engines to bring the majority of traffic to your website then you also need to make sure you have high quality unique content on your website.
Many newbie internet marketers believe that if they select the right keywords they'll all of a sudden have front page Google rankings and a swarm of visitors to their website.
Unfortunately it's not quite that simple because proper keyword selection is only a small part of SEO.
Good search engine ranking is dependent on many factors such as the quality and uniqueness of your website's content, the number of quality backlinks pointing to your website and amount and quality of other websites competing for the same keyword.
Did you notice how the word "quality" was repeated several times? These days search engines are all about quality.
If you have the ability to constantly produce high quality, unique content, then you will have an advantage and can deliver exactly what the search engines are looking for.
On the other hand, if you produce content with poor spelling and grammar, or maybe recycled content from someone else, then you will probably have a very difficult time ranking well in the search engines.
So how can the search engines tell the difference between the high quality content and poor watered down rubbish? In order to answer this question, I want you to think about the last time you went to the movies.
How good was the movie that you watched? Was it spectacular? If so then you probably recommended it to your friends.
Maybe you even posted a Facebook or Twitter status stating how good it was.
On the other hand, did you recommend the movie if it was terrible? Most likely not.
The internet works the same way.
We already stated that search engines love content which have a lot of backlinks from other high quality websites.
If you produce keyword rich content that people find useful, you will discover that those people will share the content with their social networks.
This means more people will view your content and then some of these viewers will share as well.
This is what is known as viral marketing.
Some blog owners may link to your content if they think it will benefit their readers.
Who knows? You may even be asked by one of the blog owners to be a guest blogger on their site.
And there you have it, instant high quality backlinks to your site.
