Processor and Battery

• The processor for a Wind U100 netbook is an Intel Atom N270 that runs at 1.6 GHz, using an Intel 945GSE+ICH7M chipset. Integrated into this system is an Intel GMA 950 Integrated Graphics system that shares the computer's memory. A three-cell battery is standard for the computer, which consumers 40 watts of power. The battery lasts almost three hours with the processor in ECO mode and the brightness for the screen set to minimum. When operating in normal mode, the battery lasts just over two hours.
  
  

Storage and Memory

• MSI Wind U100 netbooks are capable of accepting MMC, MSPD, SM/MMS, SD and MS memory cards using a built-in card reader. The hard drive is an 80GB, 2.5 inch SATA unit that can be swapped with a bigger drive by removing the bottom of the case. The unit weighs 2.2 lbs. and has a composite plastic casing available in pink, black, red and white colors. This netbook has a VGA socket to output video to an external monitor. • Wind U100 netbooks made by MSI feature a built-in webcam that operates with a maximum of 1.3 megapixels and a minimum of 0.3 megapixels. Stereo speakers and a built-in microphone are also included with the HD audio chipset. The display is an LCD TFT monitor with a 10-inch diagonal size and a maximum resolution of 1,024 by 600 pixels. This netbook can connect with devices that use USB 2.0 and features Ethernet networking along with 802.11b and 802.11g Wi-Fi protocols. Wind U100 units arrive pre-installed with Windows XP as their operating system.
