Dec14Recap
Kate later tells Bo that Lucas isn’t available. Bo notes how relieved she looks. Roman arrives and summons Bo away for the moment. He brings Bo up to speed on the package in which the delivery company claims they made a delivery to Lucas Horton, but according to another guy there was no such delivery. They briefly discuss what could’ve happened to the package before Roman suggests they keep after Kate.
Bo asks Roman to keep an eye on Kate, but Roman reminds him that they’re not exactly friendly these days, especially since she implicated Marlena in EJ’s shooting. “Okay fine. We’ll cut her loose, suspend the investigation til you get it straight with your exes,” jokes Bo. Roman agrees to talk to Kate, but urges Bo to bail him out if Roman gives him the signal. He joins “Katie,” who tells him to go to he!!.
Chloe requests another drink from the bartender while Philip insists to Hope that he’s not the one making Belle miserable. “You didn’t see her the night before her wedding?” questions Hope. Phil claims he wanted to wish her well. She tells him that it’s time to move on and is appalled that Philip isn’t the least bit ashamed of his indiscretion with Belle. He dares Hope to dump it all on Shawn and is convinced that she can’t do it. He wonders why she kept quiet before the wedding, then concludes that Shawn would never forgive her for keeping mum. “He’s a lot more forgiving than you think.
In fact he may even forgive you, Philip,” speculates Hope. He rejoins Chloe as Bo approaches a perturbed Hope, who says she was simply trying to remind Phil how close he and Shawn used to be. She admits she can’t get over how cold and cynical he’s become and realizes that he’s going to make trouble. They change the topic to Marlena, who Hope hasn’t been able to reach since her arrest.
Meanwhile, Roman informs Kate that Marlena was officially charged and arraigned for attempted murder. “What? Is she awaiting trial at Salem Springs Spa?” quips Kate. Roman reveals that she made bail and took a leave of absence from the hospital, since she didn’t want her arrest to damage the hospital’s reputation. Kate exhibits no sympathy for Marlena. Roman reminds her of a time when Kate had a heart. She rants how Brady family and friends go through the revolving door of the justice system, then they’re free. Roman asks what she wants from him. “I want you to treat me the same way you treat Marlena,” she replies. She speculates that Roman would use any excuse to protect Marlena or lie for her. Roman admits having a soft spot for both of his exes, but Kate makes it d@mn near impossible to feel sorry for her. “That’s because I don’t let anyone push me around,” insists Kate. “No, because Kate always puts Kate first,” counters Roman, who suspects that she took a shot at Sami so she’d have Lucas all to herself. Roman justifies Marlena’s actions by recalling how Marlena just lost her husband and saw her daughter about to marry into the DiMera family. Kate assumes that Roman thinks she’s a heartless assassin working her own angle while Marlena’s getting revenge for John. She reminisces how Roman once softened her rough edges and implores him to remember how sweet things used to be between them.
Chloe later asks Philip what Hope wanted. “Ah, to reminisce,” he sighs. She wonders if Shawn and Belle’s marriage survived the reunion, but he tells her to nose that one out herself. He questions why she would want Shawn to be unhappy, since he’s always looked out for her. Chloe states that she just thought Shawn deserved to know the truth and proposes that they talk about something else. Philip later suggests to Chloe that they help Shawn and Belle split up, but she refuses. “And once they’re snug inside their fairy tale, I’ll turn my attention to you?” he assumes. “I’ve already got your attention, Soldier. You just don’t know it yet,” she surmises. Phil then suggests they have another round. Chloe declares that she’s worth a top shelf Vodka Martini, wet and dirty. He’s willing to see where things go between them and is intrigued when she leans into his ear.
Hope proposes to reach Marlena again, then smooches Bo good-bye. Roman approaches Bo and informs him that he only got attitude out of Kate. Bo jokes about calling the A-Team before Roman leaves. Bo and Kate then banter back and forth about who has Lucas’s gun. “So, what’s it going to be? Confessions over cocktails or a strong arm down at the station?” he asks. Kate chooses neither. Bo warns her that obstruction of justice can land her back in jail and demands that she divulge what’s in the package unless she wants her butt hauled down to the station. She continues to deny knowing anything, then her phone rings. She answers it to Lucas, who reveals that the delivery company mentioned that someone else signed for his package. She then hangs up on him. “Lucas says, ‘What package?’” Kate lies. Bo wonders if Kate wants obstruction of justice added to her package and warns her that she’s going about it the wrong way trying to protect Lucas. He advises her to listen to her conscious every now and then, making reference to Marlena. He vows to find out what Lucas is hiding and advises Kate to answer his questions. Bo then receives a call, then reveals to Kate that he’s located the package.
Lucas later rants on the phone to Air Move Express how ridiculous and unacceptable it is that his package is missing. The recipient attests that the company sent the driver back to his building, where his neighbor (EJ) claimed he gave the package back to Lucas. Lucas barks at him to check the ID next time, then hangs up. He then turns around and sees Sami standing there, who demands to know what’s inside the package.
