  Many digital communication devices have a camera that can deliver real-time visual conversations between two people. Aside from your regular updates, you can make a date using this device. Decide on a specific time and location where you will both be present, and request how you would like your partner to dress. Be very specific, because it will make both parties have to work a little, just as though you are going on an exciting, secret rendezvous. When you reach your destination at the agreed upon time, describe the similarities and differences of your surroundings. Use different locations on your dates until you've found a great pairing that you two can call your own.

  Agree on a movie that you'd both like to see and what kind of food you will share afterward. Chances are, the local theaters at both locations are playing the title that you pick and will also have a restaurant that caters to your designated food. Pick the time and day that you will be going on your dinner and movie date, and when you get home, call each other and discuss the details of the movie and offer a critique of your dining experience.

  You don't have to be artists to create a personalized romantic work of art. Aside from any usual letter that you send, you will want to render this piece of mail cryptic and poetic, to create an element of surprise. Snip out a blurb from your local newspaper, part of a matchbox, a photo or map and glue it to a piece of paper. Draw a picture or write a phrase or a special word in colorful ink. Send this artistic work in progress back and forth to each other until you are together again.
