Saint Patrick"s Bingo
The day is a national holiday for the Irish people, and is an official public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, in the British province of Northern Ireland, in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, and in the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat (although in the last case the date marks a failed slave uprising of March 17th, 1798).
Saint Patrick's day is a perfect opportunity for family and community gatherings.
Obviously it's great if Irish food and drink is available, but it's also nice to have some music and games too! One such game that is ideal for these occasions is bingo - it's simpy to learn and play, cheap and not requiring of expensive materials, and suitable for any number of people (of all ages) to play together.
Of course, if you're playing bingo on Saint Patrick's Day - you'll want to play the game with an Irish theme.
Instead of playing the standard game using bingo cards containing numbers, why not play with Irish-related words or phrases printed in each square? It's appropriate for the day, it adds to the fun, it can be educational for younger players, and it's easy to arrange.
Using your computer and some bingo card maker software, you can print out an unlimited quantity of themed bingo cards (in fact on any theme at all, not just Ireland or Saint Patrick) with incredible ease.
