Cigar Humidor Instructions
- 1). Fill a container with propylene glycol activation solution (or distilled water) and completely immerse the humidifier inserts until the liquid permeates them. Place the humidifiers on a dry towel for up to 60 minutes after saturation to ensure no liquid escapes into the humidor.
- 2). Wipe the inside of the humidor with a soft cloth lightly moistened with distilled water. Avoid using too much water, as it may damage the cedar wood inside the humidor.
- 3). Infuse the inside of the humidor with moisture by placing a shot glass full of water inside it or by laying a moistened sponge on a piece of plastic wrap (to avoid damaging the cedar interior) inside. Place the saturated humidifiers inside the lid of the humidor and install the hygrometer, which measures humidity. Close the lid of the humidor for at least 12 hours.
- 4). Open the humidor after the 12-hour period has elapsed, then take out the shot glass of water or moistened sponge and plastic wrap. Close the lid of the humidor and allow it to sit undisturbed for an additional 12 hours.
- 5). Place cigars in the humidor carefully to avoid blocking the humidifier vents. This will ensure the proper level of humidity is maintained and the cigars remain fresh and ready to smoke.
- 6). Store your humidor in an area with a maximum temperature of 73 degrees, and add a solution of propylene glycol to the humidifier once a month to maintain the proper level of humidity, which is 65 percent to 72 percent.
