Gun Trigger Safety
- Trigger locks are designed to immobilize the weapon's trigger. By preventing movement of the trigger, the gun cannot be fired.
- The majority of trigger locks are two-piece devices, connected with an interlocking shaft, that encase the trigger.
- Trigger locks can be opened with keys or combinations. Both styles of locks operate similarly.
- When storing your weapons, it is strongly recommended that you keep the trigger lock keys (or combination code) separate from the gun.
- Even with trigger locks installed, you should never store loaded guns. While the lock does keep the trigger immobile, there is a possibility of accidentally firing while removing the lock.
