How You Can Avoid Starting A Wildfire

105 9
There are many ways that a wildfire can be caused and it can be just by the smallest things. It can be by the heat, cigarette butts, bonfires, campfires, or a camp cooking stove. It can start by a very small flame and that small flame can lead up to a bigger fire. Which can get bigger and bigger in minutes after it has started. When the fire gets bigger, more and more smoke will come with it, clouding the sky an putting toxins in it.

When the fire gets bigger, it is harder for the firefighters to get the fire out and it can take days depending on how big it is and how much it has spread. You have to be careful not to throw your cigarette butts on the ground. It can start to burn anything it comes in contact with. Do not even flick your ashes out the window because the fire can come off and if it does not go out before it hits the ground, fires can be caused. This is really not a good idea when it is dry outside because once it touches something it can light it on fire.

When you have a bonfire or even a small campfire, you will want to make sure that you are not around any dry weeds or trees. If the flames or hot heat reaches trees and grass can ignite them into an inferno quickly, spread, and be out of control in minutes. Do not use gasoline or any other flammable fuel to help get a fire started. That can cause flames to shoot out and blaze higher than you expected and you could be what gets damaged and set ablaze. Make sure that you have something around the fire so it can not get. Rocks or lots of dirt will help keep it in a ring.

If there is a drought going on, it is better not to use a fire at all. Use battery operated lanterns instead of a fire or fuel burning lanterns. When it is dry like that there is nothing we can do to stop it from happening because the ground is so dry. When it gets really dry, a wildfire can be really bad because it can spread faster than it would normally and a lot more things can be destroyed. If there is a lot of wind blowing it can make it much worse and it can really get out of control. Hot dry weather and wildfires are becoming more common for whatever reason these days and in order to keep destruction from them to a minimum, we must do our part to prevent fires. They are started often enough from extreme heat or lightening and they do not need any additional help from us.
