Two Filipino Women Killed
The DFA did not so indicate, but from the sound of their names and their places of origin in the Philippines, the Filipinos appear to be Muslims. Neither did the DFA give a time frame of when the crimes were committed and other details.
Astria Samad Abdul, a Maguindanao native, was reportedly tortured to death by her employers, spouses Abdulaziz al Falekh and Rabagh Mustafa Sahata. The DFA identified the torturers as Kuwaitis of Egyptian descent.
During police investigation, Abdul's killers admitted to having tortured the Filipino to death and leaving her body in the Kabd desert area, the report added. Abdulaziz al Falekh and Rabagh Mustafa Sahata have been criminally charged.
The DFA said that Abdul's remains were found by police on July 17 and that they will undergo forensic examinations and then repatriated to the Philippines.
Cotabato native Norhaisa Nasa Andaw was stabbed to death at least 30 times by her Egyptian husband, Atallah Mohammad, during a fit of jealousy at a salon in Jabriya.
In a report to the DFA, the embassy in Kuwait said the husband has reportedly fled the scene of the crime but left behind the knife believed to be the death instrument and his pair of slippers.
A warrant of arrest and a hold departure order have been issued against the husband by Kuwaiti authorities.
The families of these women are deeply saddened, angry and horrified by these tragic events. Impatiently they must wait as they demand justice to be served for their loved ones. Yet, it remains unclear as to how much time it will take to capture and punish these people.
