Is your Saturday night plan usually curling up on the couch to watch a DVD alone? Have you already tried blind dates with friends of friends with disastrous consequences? Is your mother the only person who leaves messages on your voice mail? If you answered yes to any of the above, it's time to get off the couch and find some male companionship. Spruce yourself up, and boldly go where the men hang out. - Although there's no guarantee of what type of man you may encounter at your local hangout or club, you are assured of finding men who are quite responsive to meeting you. Just use your best judgement to weed out the jerks, and don't get sloppy drunk, for your own protection.
- The customers at coffee shops are predominantly male, so this is another venue worth a peek if drinking and dancing isn't your style. When you see a promising male, ask to borrow a section of his paper or directions to somewhere you already know. If he seems interested, try to continue the conversation about current events or places in the city; it could possibly lead to lunch or dinner.
- The gym provides a great opportunity to meet health-conscious guys while doing something that also benefits you. There are also plenty of conversation-starters. You can ask for dibs on a machine after him, or help with a piece of exercise equipment.
- All sorts of people go to the park, and I've been told by guy friends that they frequently go to the park looking for women. Walk your dog, go rollerblading or take a leisurely stroll. You never know who you may encounter, and you can always remark on the weather.
- Boys love toys, so you're sure to see guys looking for the latest technological gadget. Browse the merchandise and other customers. When you see a prospect, ask him his opinion on a gadget. Whether he knows much about it or not, at least you've broken the ice.
