Miniatures by Anne Chaffer

From the Artist: I loved doing the miniature project as I am a bit of a "fiddly" worker and painting this size allowed me to indulge my fiddling! I couldn't wait to finish one so I could start another and inspiration came without having to think too hard. None of the miniatures exceed the ratio 10cmcx10cm and the missing coin should read 100 cents equals one euro.

I have been influenced by Tiffany´s style of work; although he worked particularly with glass and stained glass windows in the States, his designs have always attracted me.

Joseph Briggs from my home town of Accrington, England, worked closely with him in America in those days and when his glass designs went out of fashion, Joseph brought a huge selection back to Accrington where it is now on display at the Haworth Art Gallery, the largest exhibition of Tiffany outside of the States.

From an artistic standpoint, my little pieces are no where near perfect, but I enjoyed doing them more than any other project over the last 18 months. Great fun and a lot of satisfaction -- and that's what it´s all about for me.
