Voter Id Card Online Application Targets The Internet Savvy Youth.

With the world becoming one thanks to the ever increasing power and reach of internet, one can only imagine the possibilities it presents us today. And with the ease of access and processes, it only makes sense to use technology to speed up the procedures and simplify the life of a common man. Voter ID card online application is one such initiative taken by the Election Commission and the Government of India to make the life of existing voters as well as the new ones very easy and simple. Existing voter can even apply for correction online by filling and submitting Form 7.

New voters are mainly the ones who have newly reached the age of 18 years, with some exceptions to ones who have not yet registered to vote even when their age is way past 18. Also youth are the most internet savvy today and it only makes sense to adopt the online route to encourage new and new voters to come on board and make sure they enroll in the voter registration program and cast their votes. No one likes to stand in queues and especially the younger lot. Due to this, a lot of people in the past avoided registering for voter Id card. However with voter ID card Delhi and Voter Id card Bangalore accepting online applications for voter registration as well as for applying for voter ID card online, things are much better and hassle free.

Voter ID card online application is now accepted in almost every state of India and each state has their own State electoral website. Applicants can go to their respective ECI website and download the application forms online. If they do not know their state electoral website, they can visit eci.nic.in click on the 'link to state CEO'; select the relevant state from the list that appears. Once you are in the site click on the online registration link and you will be asked to enter your details and a login and password will be generated. Using these, you can log in and download the form 6 for voter registration and fill in the details. Make sure there are no mistakes in the information you enter, as these will be the details used for your voter registration and your voter ID card as well. Also make sure to scan and attach your recent passport size photograph in the relevant space provided and submit the form.

Along with the form you also need to submit proof of your credentials in the form of ID proof and residence proof which can be copies of any of these documents namely, PAN card, Driver's License, Passport, Electricity Bill, MTNL/BSNL Telephone Bill, Gas Connection receipt. It will be easier if you have these in soft copies or in other words scanned. You can them submit them online along with the application. If, however you cannot arrange for scanned copies of the documents than you can download and print your application form and take it along with the documents to the local ERO for submission or send them all through post. In either case your application will be scrutinized along with the documents and a thorough verification of your residence etc. will carried out. An officer may visit you for the same. Once the application and verification is to the satisfaction of the officer from ERO, your application will be processed and you will receive your voter ID card.

In case of Voter ID card Bangalore, the process can be over in just about a month. Karnataka was the first state to embrace the online route to voter applications back in 2011. In case of voter ID card Delhi, where there are around 70 assembly constituencies, you may find the Local ERO quiet easily and make the submission personally as well. However Delhi too has online voter ID card application in place just like most other states of India today.
