Nissan Brake Problems
- The recall was specifically targeting faulty brake pedal pin assemblies. In three reported cases, the brake pin was worked loose, resulting in a loss of braking ability or a reduction in braking force. Nissan recalled 540,000 vehicles -- sports utility vehicles, pick-up trucks and minivans -- in both recalls.
- The brake recall specifically related to four models of vehicles with manufacturing years from 2008 to 2010. The models affected were the Nissan Titan, Nissan Armada, Nissan Quest and the Infiniti QX56. Models of the Nissan Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra manufactured between January and March 2006 and October 2007 and January 2008 may be affected by the recall.
- Nissan maintains that the problem is caused by its suppliers, but covers all repairs for vehicles affected by the recall. Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Nissan and told when to bring the vehicle in for repair. In the event that your brake pedal is wobbling or feels loose, contact your Nissan dealer.
