Conclusions
This study shows that DES placement for symptomatic atherosclerotic stenoses of the intracranial VBA and VAO appears feasible and safe. Also, it has an acceptable long-term outcome and may be considered as an alternative to medical therapy. Further study of a larger patient population in a randomized controlled trial is required to validate this treatment option.
