- 1). Connect one end of the power cord into the back of the P3120 and the other end of the cable into a wall outlet or surge suppressor strip. Then press the power button to turn on the printer.
- 2). Install the paper trays, and then load paper into the input tray.
- 3). Open the top cover and install the ink cartridges. Shake the cartridges before placing them into the corresponding ink compartments. Snap them into place securely. Close the cover before continuing.
- 4). Turn on your computer if you have not already done so.
- 5). Connect the P3120 to the computer using the USB cable. One end of the cable connects to the back of the printer; the other end connects to a USB port on your computer.
- 6). Insert the installation CD when prompted, and follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer software and drivers. If you do not have the original installation CD, you can download the software from the Lexmark website.
