    • 1). Diagnose start-up problems. First, make sure the key turns. Verify if the starter cranks, and if it does, if it cranks slowly. A slow crank may mean a dead or insufficiently charged battery. If the starter works but the engine doesn't turn, it could be a problem with the fuel delivery system or engine electronics.

    • 2). Solve vehicular vibration problems. If the Corolla is vibrating or shaking, check if the tires are imbalanced or the wheels are warped. Inspect and replace broken or worn motor mounts, loose suspension parts, and warped brake rotors.

    • 3). Correct pulling in the Toyota Corolla. If the vehicle pulls to the right or left while driving, check the alignment. Look at the suspension system for signs of wear and tear. Additionally, it could be caused by worn bushings or by brake calipers that are sticking.

    • 4). Fix a broken A/C. In hot climates, a malfunctioning air conditioning system can be unbearable. Check the compressor, which powers the A/C. Open the hood and look for where the drive belt connects to the crankshaft of the engine. The compressor should be running when the A/C is on. Alternately, check the condenser, which converts high-pressure vapor to liquid for cooling. It is located on top of the radiator. The compressor and condenser may need replacement.

    • 5). Resolve excessively hard braking in your 1990 Corolla. Visually inspect the brake power booster. Check to see if the caliper piston is sticking, which causes drag. Also look at the brake hose and check to see if it is clogged.
