Also purchase holiday clips that attach to your roof to hang the lights. There are different clips for windows and rooftops. Purchase the clips that you need for your decorating project.
- 3). Plug in the Christmas lights to make sure they work. There is nothing worse than hanging all the lights and then finding out you have a missing bulb. Replace any bulbs that are not working.
- 4). Set-up a ladder and attach the Christmas light hooks evenly in the area that you will be hanging the lights. After securing each hook on your roof or gutter, place the Christmas lights firmly in the hooks so they stay in place.
