- 1). Fill the hot tub with water. Ensure the water level is above any return lines in the hot tub. The typical water level is a few inches below the top of the hot tub.
- 2). Prepare the chlorine treatment. If using chlorine tablets, locate the hot tub's chlorine dispenser. Place chlorine tablets directly into the dispenser or into the hot tub's filter basket, if no conventional dispenser is present. If using chlorine liquid, pour an amount equal to the recommended dosage on the liquid's packaging directly into the water.
- 3). Turn your hot tub on and allow the water to circulate. Brush up any undissolved chlorine from the bottom of the hot tub to incorporate it thoroughly with the water.
