How to Convert Office 2007 to Office 2003

    • 1). Uninstall Microsoft Office 2007. To do so, close any Microsoft Office 2007 programs that you are using. Click the Windows "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel."

    • 2). Click "Programs" and click "Programs and Features" if you are using Windows Vista and 7. A new window launches with a list of the applications installed on your computer. If you are using Windows XP, double-click "Add or Remove Programs." You should see a list of installed applications.

    • 3). Scroll down the list and click "Microsoft Office 2007." Click "Uninstall" (Windows Vista or 7) or "Remove" (Windows XP). When prompted, click "Yes" to uninstall the program. Follow the guided prompts to complete the uninstallation. When prompted, restart your computer.

    • 4). Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility if you are unable to locate Microsoft Office 2007 from the installed programs list (See Resources). Launch the utility after installing it, and click all the Microsoft Office 2007 components in the "Windows Installer CleanUp" dialog box and click "Remove." If prompted, restart your computer.

    • 5). Insert your Microsoft Office 2003 installation CD into the CD/DVD-ROM drive on your computer when you finish uninstalling Office 2007. The installation wizard launches automatically. If it does not launch, launch Windows Explorer by double-clicking "My Computer" on the desktop. Right-click the drive containing the Microsoft Office 2003 installation CD and click "AutoPlay" to launch the installation wizard. Follow the guided prompts to complete the installation. When prompted, restart your computer.
