Installing a Wall Fountain

    • 1). Dig a hole next to the wall where the fountainhead will be installed. The hole must be big enough to contain the plastic basin you will use for the reservoir. Make sure the basin fits correctly and is level.

    • 2). Cut a piece of metal screening for the top of the basin. Use a jigsaw to cut the screening so that it fits securely over the top of the underground reservoir.

    • 3). Drill two holes in the wall. One hole must be drilled at the top of the wall where the fountain head will be installed. The other hole will be drilled at the bottom of the wall for the pump's water tube and power cord. Make sure the top and bottom holes line up.

    • 4). Place the pump in the underground reservoir and feed the water tube and power cord through the bottom hole. Plug the power cord into a nearby GFCI outlet. Push the water tube through the top hole so it comes through the front of the wall.

    • 5). Pull the water tube through the front of the wall and connect it to the fountain head. Next, secure the fountain head to the wall with mounting hardware.

    • 6). Place a plastic bowl on top of the mesh screen to act as a spill basin. This spill basin will catch the water that falls from the fountain head. Fill the underground reservoir and the spill basin with water. Hide the mesh screening by placing colored stones or rocks on top of it.

    • 7). Turn on the pump and check that the water is flowing correctly and falling from the fountain head. If the stream of water is too weak or too powerful, readjust the flow rate on the pump until the water hits the spill basin directly. Water from the spill basin will flow into the underground reservoir and continue to circulate through the pump.
