The Call To Adventure to Change Your Life
However, the ability to carry out her greater gifts and unique genius has been obscured, obstructed and dissuaded by a number of factors.
The doubter has been set to work.
Their 'True North' has been obscured by lack of self-love or self-worth.
They don't feel like they truly deserve to have the treasure, the soul wealth, it will bring.
Joseph Campbell wrote about the mythic quest we are on which he called the hero's journey.
Let's rename this quest for courageous women, 'The Heroine's Journey'.
This journey is a metaphoric internal journey.
It often follows a theme similar to the themes we have seen unfolding in fairytales like Cinderella, Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty.
These metaphysical themes generally have an end purpose which point the heroine towards truly knowing herself as the Knower, towards being more of who she truly is (a Queen or Priestess or Princess).
The first part of The Heroine's Journey starts with a desire to expand.
It can be an inner urging or impulse which often creates a feeling of discomfort or disquiet.
Something is off.
There's a deep yearning to connect with Spirit or with a deeper truth that one has been carrying, possibly for eons.
It feels as though this deeper truth seeks expression in the world but it's been pushed away due to the outer world conditioning and constraints imposed upon it in the past.
The first stage is prompted by the glimpses of core essence about who you are and what you are here for.
Remembering childhood aspirations, potent childhood dreams and identifying symbolic repetitions in your can be deeply helpful ways of uncovering your essence.
For example, you've always been good with animals, or children or painting.
These fractals are smaller parts of a bigger whole.
You might have been known as the class clown or the computer whizz as a child and there are repetitions of this theme in fractal form sprinkled throughout your life.
When you awaken to these themes the stirring gains momentum and the quest is inevitable for the Heroine.
Usually at this first stage of the heroine's journey, a step into the unknown and unpredictable is required.
It could be a new job or a change in location.
It could be finally stepping away from an unhealthy relationship or starting a new business or project.
Tuning into the heart is the perfect antidote to fear of the unknown at this point.
Having guidance and the support of trusted advisors is advisable, however, only the individual can truly know what her heart is calling her to do.
The Call to Adventure is the first of six parts to The Heroine's Journey.
Knowing where you are on this journey gives you the ability to call in your supports, be on the lookout for the common challenges you may face and embrace the change as an exciting start to your amazing future.
